A family coach is a partner/sounding board and neutral 3rd party that helps families identify their goals as they help establish new routines and behaviors within the larger family group dynamic.

Boulder Family Coach

Navigating life’s challenges with playful, relatable methods.

I coach and mentor youth on how to navigate the challenges of their social circles, employ self-care practices, achieve school/ life balance and time management skills, as well as navigate issues related to anxiety and depression.

Amongst other methodologies I use drama, movement, vocalization, writing and art to inspire self-confidence and self-esteem and to promote better self and social awareness.

I also provide motivation, pushing my students to safely move past their threshold to become the best version of themselves.

My approach is always playful, relatable, dynamic, and very down to earth!

Individual Parenting Coaching

“It takes a village..”

Parenting in a world where we have very little community or familial support is tough.

Parenting in a society where the presence of social media and media in general have such tremendous influence can be downright overwhelming!

I can help!

Parents I will support you in:

  • Relating to your pre- teen/teen when it feels like you are worlds apart.
  • Handling your triggers when your pre teen//teen pushes your buttons.
  • Navigating your pre-teen//teen’s moods and behaviors effectively.
  • Establishing personal practices and rituals that will help to strengthen the bond between you and your pre- teen//teen.
  • Unpacking how your personal history, relationship dynamics and habits may be creating an inclination towards conflict between you and your pre-teen//teen.

Parent/Child Coaching Sessions Include:

In a group session with parents and their kids I use fun and relatable activities.

Such as:

  • The Spectrogram
  • Social atoms
  • Movement games
  • Role playing
  • Art
  • Communication cards

These activities break the ice and help to facilitate positive, clear communication and empathy. Together, we will identify and reinforce positive behaviors and create a concrete plan to foster long term change in your household.

Family coaching can be a combination of individual sessions and sessions together. In our sessions together, I will provide simple tools for parents and their kids to connect more intimately with each other.

This will open the possibility for sustainable trust as it fosters ongoing open dialogue and communication.

“Michelle’s work with my daughter has engaged her creativity and body, as well as her mind and heart. My daughter was experiencing anxiety and depression as she entered a tricky period of adolescence and has found working with Michelle to be profoundly helpful. Michelle helps my girl to illuminate and sort out both what’s going on inside her and offers support and strategies to navigate the social dramas of middle school.

After her sessions she is more joyful, grounded, and in touch with what’s underneath the turbulent emotions she struggles with. She feels Michelle ‘gets’ her and feels safe expressing various aspects of herself. She enjoys and appreciates the sessions-she says, ‘they are intense but in a good sort of way; Michelle really helps me with my moods and anxiety.’

As a parent, knowing that my daughter has this sort of wise support is a relief, and a blessing.

“I wrote my ‘noble letter of completion’ during a session with Michelle, a ritual practice she designed for her clients around cutting ties and letting go in relationships. It brought tremendous healing to me from the painful loss of a long -term relationship. I shed painful tears but also tears of relief, feeling the ability to let go on so many levels. Michelle made me feel safe and taken care of.”
